I have a need to run Cygwin on Win9x platforms, including Win95. I need to use cron and agetty for a dial in connection. Is this possible? I've tried to research this question but haven't been able to find a definitive answer. Upgrading the OS is not an option at this time due to the number of machines that would need to be upgraded and the probability that currently used applications might have problems on NT, 2000 or XP. Is it possible to run cron and init (to run agetty) on win9x platforms? My understanding is that Win9x doesn't support services. The default installation of init doesnt set up the init service using cygrunsrv. Is there a faq that describes the limitations of Cygwin on Win9x platforms.
