Adding umask=0666 to my CYGWIN environment variable (assuming that's what you meant), shutting down all Cygwin processes and looking again does not change the outcome of the test. remounting my home with -E added (`mount -f -E -t c:\\cygwin\\home /home`) does not change the results either.
