Upon running xfig, the program did not recognize the right click of the mouse (touch pad) on my computer. Later, I ran emacs and it did not understand C-x C-c to exit. From the archives, it appears that I may need to set the tty environmental variable. Yet, I cannot figure out how to actually set this variable to enable such things to be recognized. My inability to find the solution in the archives may be a matter of not knowing exactly what to search on...but nonetheless, my background work has proven quite limited results. Anyone's advice would be most appreciated. I thank you in advance.
