If you mean in general, if you use the --options, they are not compatible. Cygwin uses the GNU Project based tools. They tend to be much more feature rich than the HP-UX ones. Take the 'find' command for example. There are a lot more options with the cygwin version for formating the output which HP-UX does not support. You may be able to go HP-UX to Cygwin but, likely, not the reverse.
