He may be using Microsoft Outlook as an email client. I just went through all sorts of contortions trying to unsubscribe from the list under one email address and re-subscribe using another. Outlook does _not_ like To: addresses of the form expected by the full Unsubscribe function. Things like "foobaz-unsubscribe-eagerstudent=uni DOT edu AT sources DOT redhat DOT com" get chopped at the = sign, leaving "foobaz-unsubscribe-eagerstudent=" as the address. I forget exactly what the problem was with the simple unsubscribe function, but I had issues with it, too. (And to add to the confusion, both email addresses are still valid: one is for my DSL line, and the other is for my cable modem account. So I had fun insuring that the messages and confirmations were sent from the correct account, as both are known to Outlook and checked during a mail run.) Switching to a different email client wasn't a convenient option for me, and I doubt I'm the only one in that position. The issue may not be cluelessness on the part of the user. If it is possible to add a web form accessable to a browser to accomplish the same end, that might help a great deal. > -- > Mac :}) ______ Dennis -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
