If I install cygwin onto the local hard drive all seems OK. If however I put the cygwin on the server I get the "init_cygheap::etc_changed Can't open /etc for checking" messages when I start Bash, and run some commands. I have searched the archive, and see others have encountered this problem, but have not seen a fix. Can anyone point me at the right place, or suggest what I could do to help diagnose this problem?
