I know this is not the case with my linux > machine at home. Can this be avoided? FWIW, this condition is also happening in nano and ncftp, but not in pico or lynx. I think it has something to do with termcap and ncurses, but I haven't been annoyed enough by it to go figure out why it is happening (yes I am uber lazy!).
