I think I have two problems. One with SourceForge and the other one with Cygwin I had an other computer with an old version of cygwin (2.29) and I was not getting the error message Could not create directory '/home/Administrator/.ssh'. Unfortunately I decided to install the latest version of cygwin, and now I have this message in both computers. Some questions ( I am a Unix-almost-perfect-ignorant ): 1) How do I set something like 'binmode ntsec tty' ( I am using windows 2000). What shoould I type in ? 2) Why should I do something like that ? I think that Cygwin installation should take care of it. 3) How do I know if /home/Administrator exist ? I am not sure what means '/'. Does it mean the c:\ or c:/GShell/Unix/Cygwin (where cygwin is installed) ? 4) How should I set the environment variables HOME and HOMEPATH ? cygdrive/c/GShell/Unix/Cygwin/Home or c:/GShell/Unix/Cygwin/Home or c:\GShell\Unix\Cygwin\Home or what? Thank you again for any help Marcello Elfyn McBratney wrote: > Hi, > > only is you want server as well Are you using nt/2k (if so $CYGWIN should be > set to something like 'binmode ntsec tty') or win9x/me (if so $CYGWIN should > be set to 'binmode tty' or another variant). > > Does /home/Administrator (dir) exist? does /home/administrator/.ssh (dir) > exist? > > Try deleting the dir /home/administrator/.ssh and running 'ssh > user AT hostname' again, dont worrk all of your keys and hosts files will be > re-installed when you connect to the host(s) again. > > If none if this works im bafff'd... > > Elfyn McBratney > elfyn AT exposure DOT org DOT uk > _____________________________________________ > Exposure Internet/Intranet > http://www.exposure.org.uk > > This e-mail is private and confidential.
