Date: Thu, 14 Mar 2002 23:15:31 -0800 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Message-ID: X-OriginalArrivalTime: 15 Mar 2002 07:15:31.0918 (UTC) FILETIME=[31627EE0:01C1CBF1] Hi The useless compiler warning is this: warning: decimal constant is so large that it is unsigned I KNOW that it's unsigned, and it's supposed to be. It's the right hand side of an initialization like this: unsigned int x = 4294967294; I'd just ignore it as a minor annoyance, but my boss insists that I find a way to silence it (he doesn't know C himself). Thank you very much in advance. Please reply to my email as I'm not subscribed to the list... P.S. I already tried typecasting the large constant as an unsigned int, as if to tell the compiler that I was well aware it was too large to be signed, but that didn't help.
