There is no solution to this reoccurring issue, which has been mentioned many times in the past. cygwish80.exe. is not a Cygwin aware utility, despite it's name. So you can't use POSIX paths with it as a result. The solution is for someone to make the effort to port it. It has not been done before now because it's been perceived as a very difficult port.
