As I now understand it, Lars created the site/software that allows MANY mailing lists to be gatewayed to nntp. (I thought this was a special thing created just for cygwin. I was wrong. Sorry for the confusion.) Somebody else "hooked up" cygwin's mailing lists to Lars' gmane system. (I thought Lars did this. I was wrong. Sorry for the confusion.) A third person posted the announcement on the cygwin webpage, since nobody could figure out who the person in step #2 was. Everybody now knows that there is an nntp-maillist gateway. Hooray for collaboration.
