Recall that this package is not the REAL autoconf. It's a set of wrapper scripts that call the REAL autoconf from autoconf-stable or autoconf-devel, depending on the needs of your target. This update fixes a mistake in the version parsing code that helps determine which REAL autoconf to call. Thanks to Martin Oberhuber. -- Corinna Vinschen Chuck Wilson To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Save it and run setup, answer the questions and pick up 'autoconf' from the 'Devel' category. You may need to click the "Full" button if it doesn't show up. Also, if you haven't recently updated, you might want to make sure that you have the latest versions of ALL of the following six packages: autoconf autoconf-stable autoconf-devel automake automake-stable automake-devel The -devel and -stable packages are fairly new and are part of a restructuring of the autotools packages; see this message for more information: http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2001-12/msg00100.html Note that downloads from sources.redhat.com (aka cygwin.com) aren't allowed due to bandwidth limitations. This means that you will need to find a mirror which has this update. In the US, ftp://mirrors.rcn.net/mirrors/sources.redhat.com/cygwin/ is a reliable high bandwidth connection. In Japan, ftp://ftp.u-aizu.ac.jp/pub/gnu/gnu-win32/ is already updated. In DK, http://mirrors.sunsite.dk/cygwin/ is usually up-to-date. If one of the above doesn't have the latest version of this package you can either wait for the site to be updated or find another mirror.
