Wrong. Other than the numerous bug fixes that went in to the setup.exe available from the home page, some of the more significant features have gone in, in the development setup.exe only. Some specific features included in the beta setup.exe are * Remembers the directory you download packages too. * Automatically installs dependencies to ensure packages work correctly. * Has categories and provides a hierarchical view to select the packages from. We're looking for 3-5 end user testers. You don't have to have _any_ interest in coding setup.exe to help. Just being someone who uses setup.exe now is enough. What is needed is feedback. Is the new interface clear, or does it need changing to be more self-explanatory. Does it have bugs? Do things work correctly? Be as precise and clear as possible in describing what is wrong/unclear/problematic. If you are interested in helping, email the list to indicate you'll be doing a test run or two. Then go to http://www.cygwin.com/setup-snapshots/ and download the most recent setup snapshot to a location on your hard disk. Run it. Tell us what you think. ******* Please, NO "me-too" comments in the feedback. Each bug reported will be considered seriously, it will not need every tester to comment on it to get looked at. ******* Rob -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
