But I am getting nowhere searching the mailing list archives, and some messages say "find out how to compile the cygwin1.dll at http://cygwin.com". I can't seem to find out how to do this in the docs or the faq. Even if someone could suggest some better search terms, it would be a big help. I have all the source, and have extracted the cygwin source tarball, and it looks like "./configure" is succeeding. But when I do a make, it looks good for awhile and then I get the following error- make[2]: Entering directory 'cygdrive/d/petes-path-to-source/i686-pc-cygwin/winsup/cygwin' make[2]: *** No rule to make target `all'. Stop. There is a symlink to Makefile.in in this directory, and it has an 'all' target. Maybe I need to do some other preparatory steps, like copying the source to a certain directory (not the default place where I extracted it)? I hope someone could point me in the right direction, even "STMLA again, you just need the 142nd match" or "RTM, search for c-o-m-m-p-i-l-e instead of compile." TIA, Peter -- -- Your mouse has moved.
