I think the only answer is to go back to cygwin1.3.2 until the problems are fixed with cygwin_crt0 under W2K. I had some problem downgrading so I went into the local directory and untarred the files myself. NOTE: you need to do this from something other than a CygWin shell, since bin/cygwin1.dll cannot be replaced while it was being used. The installer should work as well.
