It is because getopt.h gets included by unistd.h now. That is a saved unistd.h (saved at date 2001-05-21): ======================== #ifndef _UNISTD_H_ #define _UNISTD_H_ # include #endif /* _UNISTD_H_ */ Now it looks like this: ======================== /* unistd.h for Cygwin. */ #ifndef _UNISTD_H_ #define _UNISTD_H_ # include # include #endif /* _UNISTD_H_ */ I found no ChangeLog entries which refer to a change in . Is it recorded somewhere else? I don't want to get included automatically if I include . If I need I would like to include it separatly. I think this change in causes my problems.
