With a domain name like sandia.gov, I'd say it's not out of the question. From the FAQ: ... keep in mind that the GUI installer is a "work in progress", so there might be a few difficulties, especially if you are behind a firewall or have other specific requirements... A quick test would be to try the windows ftp command line and see if you can reach the mirror site in question via that means. Example: c:\> ftp ftp.sunsite.utk.edu ... ftp> cd /pub/cygwin/ If you can't get there that way, your firewall may be blocking the FTP port (port 21 right?) Don't know if there are HTTP mirror sites of cygwin? Maybe there is some site out there where you can download from FTP sites via an HTTP redirector? I don't know of any, but sounds like a cool idea, huh? Or perhaps your company has an internet FTP gateway where you could go download manually via that means? If so maybe you could download it all (preserving the directory layout of course) and then run setup.exe against "local" instead of "internet"?
