I'm trying to install cygwin on a network drive, either with unc paths or with drive letters. Assuming that M: is the network drive I try to install from M:\cygarch into M:\cygwin with SETUP. All works well up to gcc. Gcc produces a ntvdm exception when compiling which can be trace to cygwin's way of implementing symbolic links type libg.a !libcygwin.a This way of "linking" works fine on local drives but fails on my networked drive. Any clues, hints or workarounds for this?
