I'm having a problem manipulating the output from time, I'd like to get just the 'real' time and thought I could do something like: $ time somecommand | egrep -e '^real' but all combinations of std:out redirections fail to send the time information into the grep instruction, they always get written to console. Please, is there anyway to do this? Thanks, J. ======================================================================= Information in this email and any attachments are confidential, and may not be copied or used by anyone other than the addressee, nor disclosed to any third party without our permission.
