The whole Setting Up section is probably worth reading. http://www.cygwin.com/cygwin-ug-net/setup-net.html 2) Assuming your NT username is jparikh, your immediate problem will probably be fixed by doing a "mkpasswd -d | grep jparikh >> /etc/passwd" at the bash prompt, and then loggin out and back in. Some funny domain configurations require more work, try "man mkpasswd". And of course, substitute your actual NT username if it is not jparikh. 3) For future questions that you also expect have come up before, the mailing list archives are searchable directly from: http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/ Others prefer to search from Google, in which case the "site:" specifier is your friend. 4) The source for mkpasswd, bash, and login can be downloaded using setup.exe, if you get really stuck. 5) Eric M. Monsler PS. Sorry for the long-winded response, I'm a sucker for irony. -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
