It uses a Windows partion. I don't have this set up on mine at the moment, though. As far as I know CygWin's mount.exe is just intended to mount "logical Windows paths" in the POSIX dir tree. Youd need a driver to "see" a ext2 partition for your Operating System to actually use that partition.
