When the screen session is started the display gets garbled. For instance, running pine on the remote machine outside of a screen session is fine. When inside a screen session the display is garbled. It's not just with this release running under this OS. Same thing happens from my 98SE box at home and with previous versions of openssh and cygwin. Also, I have tried connecting to a different remote machine but the effect is the same, so I guess the problems lie with the way openssh handles output from remote screen sessions Local info: openssh-2.9p1-2 installed 24-05-2001 cygwin-1.3.2-1 installed 22-05-2001 Remote machine info: Screen version 3.09.08 (FAU) 1-Sep-00 Pine Version 4.21 (built Wed Jul 26 18:55:18 BST 2000) Red Hat Linux release 6.2 (Zoot) Kernel 2.2.18 on a 2-processor i686 Outout from cygcheck -s -v -r Cygnus Win95/NT Configuration Diagnostics Current System Time: Thu May 24 09:59:50 2001 WinNT Ver 5.0 build 2195 Service Pack 2 Path: /usr/local/bin /usr/bin /bin /c/WINNT/system32 /c/WINNT /c/WINNT/System32/Wbem /c/Perl/bin/ /c/orant/bin /c/vim/vim57 /usr/bin SysDir: C:\WINNT\System32 WinDir: C:\WINNT PWD = `/home/***' USER = `***' MAKE_MODE = `unix' HOME = `/home/***' NUMBER_OF_PROCESSORS = `1' PROMPT = `$P$G' LOGONSERVER = `***' OS2LIBPATH = `C:\WINNT\system32\os2\dll;' COMSPEC = `C:\WINNT\system32\cmd.exe' !C: = `C:\cygwin\bin' SYSTEMDRIVE = `C:' HOSTNAME = `***' PROCESSOR_REVISION = `0402' PATHEXT = `.COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WSF;.WSH' COMPUTERNAME = `***' CLASSPATH =`C:\orant\Consolidator20;C:\orant\LITE\CLASSES\OLJDK11.JAR;C:\orant\LITE\CLASSES\OLITE40.JAR;' WINDIR = `C:\WINNT' USERPROFILE = `C:\Documents and Settings\***' PS1 = `\[\033]0;\w\007\033[32m\]\u@\h \[\033[33m\w\033[0m\]$ ' PROGRAMFILES = `C:\Program Files' USERDNSDOMAIN = `***' MACHTYPE = `i686-pc-cygwin' PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER = `x86 Family 6 Model 4 Stepping 2, AuthenticAMD' OS = `Windows_NT' OLDPWD = `/usr/bin' PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE = `x86' TEMP = `/c/DOCUME~1/***/LOCALS~1/Temp' PROCESSOR_LEVEL = `6' SYSTEMROOT = `C:\WINNT' HOMEDRIVE = `C:' ALLUSERSPROFILE = `C:\Documents and Settings\All Users' SHLVL = `1' DIRCMD = `/a' APPDATA = `C:\Documents and Settings\***\Application Data' COMMONPROGRAMFILES = `C:\Program Files\Common Files' HOMEPATH = `\' USERDOMAIN = `***' USERNAME = `***' SHELL = `/bin/sh' HOSTTYPE = `i686' OSTYPE = `cygwin' TERM = `cygwin' _ = `/usr/bin/cygcheck' TZ = `GMTST0GMTDT-1,M3.5.0/1,M10.5.0/2' HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cygnus Solutions HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2 (default) = `/cygdrive' cygdrive flags = 0x00000022 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2\/a (default) = `a:' flags = 0x00000000 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\Program Options HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\S tart Menu\Programs\Cygnus Solutions (default) = (unsupported type) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2\/ (default) = `C:/cygwin' flags = 0x0000000a HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2\/c (default) = `c:' flags = 0x00000008 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2\/d (default) = `d:' flags = 0x00000008 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2\/e (default) = `e:' flags = 0x00000008 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2\/usr/bin (default) = `C:/cygwin/bin' flags = 0x0000000a HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2\/usr/lib (default) = `C:/cygwin/lib' flags = 0x0000000a HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\Program Options a: fd N/A N/A c: hd NTFS 38162Mb 8% CP CS UN PA FC d: cd N/A N/A e: cd N/A N/A f: net NTFS 25211Mb 74% CP CS UN PA FC C:\cygwin\bin /usr/bin system binmode C:\cygwin\lib /usr/lib system binmode C:\cygwin / system binmode a: /a user textmode c: /c system textmode d: /d system textmode e: /e system textmode f: /cygdrive/f user binmode,noumount Found: C:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\cat.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\cpp.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\find.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\gcc.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\gdb.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\ld.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\ls.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\make.exe Found: C:\cygwin\bin\sh.exe 56k 2000/12/03 C:\cygwin\bin\cygbz21.0.dll -
