One can build ghostscript 6.50 (and above I guess) under the basic Cygwin
(ie without xfree stuff):
to do that you have to modify the unix Makefiles distributed in the gs
sources in concequense.

Ghostscript 6.01 and above can not be distributed within cygwin due to the
new License term:
