Have you tried $ mkpasswd -d too? That is a difference for me. I get not anymore the same error as you, but Siebenschlaefer AT LORELEY ~ $ crontab -e You must enter your Windows password. Otherwise, your crontab entries can't be executed. Password: crontab: Unrecoverable error 2245. What now? Corinna writes: > That's funny. Hmmm, i login with user 'news', 'it' has NO password (Passwd='') and it works for 'news' or for other users i invented, only to use cron. So, what is this policy good for???
