Hi--

 This might be a simply question, but I hope someone is nice enough to
take the time to at least point me in the right direction.

I'm trying to port a program from the unix environment  into the
microsoft windows environment.

I created a library file using gcc in unix.
I wanted to do something similar in windows, and it seems that this
translates into me having
to create a .lib file.

Can this be done with the cygwin gcc? if yes, how?

If not, is there a way to manage this withouht resorting to the
microsoft development tools?
