I have done the following (under cygwin): Downloaded sources for gcc 2.95.2 to: /gcc-2.95.2 Created the directory: /gcc Typed: cd /gcc Typed: /gcc-2.95.2/configure Typed: make bootstrap The make chugs along quite nicely for about 5 min and then spits out: ...... gcc -o c++filt.exe -DIN_GCC -g -DHAVE_CONFIG_H \ cxxmain.o underscore.o obstack.o -ladvapi32 ../libiberty/libiberty.a `if [ -f /gcc/gcc/../texinfo/makeinfo/Makefile ] ; then echo /gcc/gcc/../texinfo/makeinfo/makeinfo ; else echo makeinfo ; fi` -I/gcc-2.95.2/gcc -o cpp.info /gcc-2.95.2/gcc/cpp.texi /gcc-2.95.2/gcc/cpp.texi: No such file or directory Earnie mentioned that I cannot configure in the sources directory. I am not (I think). Feelin' kinda dumb.... Ken PS. The _real_ problem that I am trying to solve is to make a ppc 7410 gcc compiler for winNT. I'll settle for a ppc 740 compiler. An answer to this would be GRAND! -- Want to unsubscribe from this list? Check out: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
