I get a few more failed tests than the version that comes with cygwin, but ok, I'll deal with it. I specified /usr/local as the install prefix so as not to overwrite the existing stuff in /usr/bin. The problem is the make install step. Nothing happens: matthew AT HOME_NT_01 /cygdrive/e/src/perl/perl-5.6.1-TRIAL3 $ make install GNUmakefile:244: warning: overriding commands for target `perlmain.o' GNUmakefile:186: warning: ignoring old commands for target `perlmain.o' make: `install' is up to date. No it's not! There are no executables for perl in /usr/local/bin, no modules in /usr/local/lib. I'm stumped. Any clues, anyone? -- Matthew O.
