Actually the alteration to the ghostscript code I suggested will work
with cygwin 1.1.8-2 and possibly earlier ones. What I am going to do is
implemented the missing function, at which point an unaltered
ghostscript will work (so you shouldn't send in the patch to the
ghostscript maintainers).
