[...] Sorry, that is difficult to say. Maybe a security issue? Have you local access, too? Could you do 'net start' on the local box? Could you check, whether the service starts over telnet, regardless what your output is? Maybe it is a problem with the terminal emulation (vt100). But myself, i use telnet not, couldn't say much more.
