As soon as I run gcc (actually the problem is really in cpp.exe) I get a windows popup "the procedure entry point _ctype_ could not be located in the dynamic link library cygwin1.dll". I'm not sure what I could have done wrong. It's a plain vanilla install of all the latest and greatest as of yesterday. I note that "strings cygwin1.dll | grep _ctype_" reveals that this string is in the library whatever that means. cygwin version appears to be 1.1.8-2 and gcc is 2.95.2-7.
