This version should fix Richard Stanton's "doesn't display prompts when run in a dos box" problem. I also went through the code changing all the #ifdef(_WIN32) sections into "#if defined(_WIN32) && !defined(__CYGWIN__)" or "#if defined(_WIN32) || defined(__CYGWIN__)" as appropriate. This was prompted by the recent '-mno-win32'/'-mwin32' change in gcc-2.95.2-7. I *think* I did that correctly, but since it's a pretty major change to the source this version is still marked 'test'.
