(RedHat 7 too, but that's a different story!) www.cygwin.com doesn't mention Windows ME ... is there a reason for that? I just downloaded most of the latest. When I use the BASH shell I get my suspicions: $ vi C:\CYGWIN\BIN\VI.EXE: *** 2. unable to allocate heap, heap_chunk_size 1073741824, Win32 error 8 $ Now, why is it trying to allocate a gig of heap space?
