tiff-3.5.5-3 is ready for testing at 
  http://cygutils.netpedia.net/testing/tiff-3.5.5-3.tar.gz

(not using sourceware for test releases -- it's hard for folks to get
them from the private directories since they're not mirrored).

Changes from 3.5.5-2

o follows new naming scheme for dlls:
   /usr/lib/libtiff.dll.a (import lib)
   /usr/lib/libtiff.a     (static lib)
   /usr/bin/cygtiff3.dll  (dll **)

o requires zlib-1.1.3-5 and jpeg-6b-3

(**) versioned dlls are the default; only extremely stable libraries
(like zlib) have unversioned dlls.  

Installation:

Download tiff-3.5.5-3.tar.gz and either:
  put it in an empty directory with setup.exe
  run setup (install from local directory)
or
  unpack from '/':  cd / && tar xvzf tiff-3.5.5-3.tar.gz

You MUST also install zlib-1.1.3-5 and jpeg-6b-3
