I tried (and tried) to build a cross compiler, target=i960-coff, host=i586-cygwin32. Started by building/installing binutils (same target/host)...that worked pretty well...only a couple trivial bugs. Then went on to gcc...configure worked...then did "make all", which went very far but died. I tried resolving these bugs but gave up.
