I've downloaded the RPM file a number of times, to make sure that it hasn't been corrupted. However, every time I try to install (on an NT4 system, using cygwin 1.1.4) I get: $ rpm -i --ignoreos perl-5.6.0-cygwin1.1.rpm user martin1 does not exist - using root [lots of this line deleted] user martin1 does not exist - using root unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic Has anyone else had this trouble with the perl RPM file? I have successfully managed to install other packages via RPM. Also, where is the cpio executable located? (Its not under /usr/bin on my system.)
