I first noticed the problem when using bash and rxvt (from Bub) together. In fact, it happens so often when using rxvt that I first thought it was a rxvt problem until I checked the task monitor more closely. Interestingly, I noticed that the problem would sometimes manifest itself after simply resizing the rxvt window. Like others, I have noticed that simply pressing 'return' sometimes alleviates the problem. However, this solution works infrequently for me. Now that I have switched back to using the Windows console instead of rxvt, the problem occurs much less frequently, but still can be a problem. I have included my .profile and the output of cygcheck -s -v -r below.
