Uhhhmmmmm..I thiiiink so..but someone who knows the answer to the first question can answer the second question more definitively than I can. *-P If the answer to #1 is 'no' and the answer to #2 is 'yes', and a patch to enable this functionality is developed, then my reservations about adding the .dll.a stuff to the main binutils cvs repository are no longer a concern.
