I have another follow-up: Un-setting CYGWIN=tty solves the problem for the black "bash" window, but if I pull up an xterm (from Siddigi's XFree download for Cygwin V1.0), the problem comes back. Is there a fix for xterms? Also, one other question. Is there a patch for Cygwin V1.0 that will fix this so that CYGWIN=tty mode works right? Can anyone at least point me to the right part of the source code so that I can hopefully fix the problem and post a patch? Many thanks, Jim Grishaw jgrishaw AT onebox DOT com __________________________________________________ FREE voicemail, email, and fax...all in one place.
