I downloaded and installed latest (b20.1, I think) full install of cygwin. I created a user named root. I started by copying 'administrator', then added 'act as part of oper. sys.', 'replace a proccess level token', and 'increase quotas'. I set up inetd as a service using srvany from the resource kit. But when I try to login, I get : Escape character is '^]'. CYGWIN_NT-4.0 20.1 (0.3/1/1) (x-zeppo) (tty0) login: kseel Password: [main] C:\usr\local\bin\login.exe 1005 (0) handle_exceptions: Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION [main] login 1005 (0) handle_exceptions: Dumping stack trace to login.exe.core Connection closed by foreign host. The account 'kseel' is a valid NT account. This doesn't happen if I type an invalid password or account. I am pulling my hair out at this point, anyone have a suggestion(s)? -- "Since the measuring device has be constructed by the observer ... we have to remember that what we observe is not nature in itself, but nature exposed to our method of questioning." -- Werner Karl Heisenberg (1901 - 1976), in "Physics and Philosophy" [1958] -- Want to unsubscribe from this list?
