I have problems with (dump-)files > 4GB and Cygwin while NT seems to have no problems with this files. example: "ls -l" shows the following resulut (instead of real size 4.302.350.336): -rw-r--r-- 1 544 everyone 7383040 Dec 28 00:22 f:/orant/backup/test.dmp "gzip" compressrate calculation shows wrong results in a similiar way: f:/orant/backup/test.dmp: -16823.0% -- replaced with f:/orant/backup/test.dmp.gz Gzip-limit in calculating correct compressrate seems to be 2GB. I'm looking for documentation about Cygwin size-limitations. Does it effect only display/calculation of file attributes or exist serious problems with big files itself?
