Hi there,

I have hust downloaded and install cygwin-b20.1 as
outlined in the cygwin user guide
I created the /bin /etc /usr directories etc

I wanted to instal gcc-2.95.2 and upon looking up the
mail archives I took the advice
to install make-3.77

I downloaded to /usr/local
then tar xvfz (file.tar.gz)
cd make-3.77
mkdir build
cd build

I have tried to configure it with
bash /usr/local/make-3.77/configure
--prefix=/cygwin/cygwin-b20/H-i586-cygwin32/bin \
>--host=i586-cygwin32

I get the following warning invalid host type, but it
continues running but after

  checking for location of SCCS get command
  not updating unwritable cache ./config.cache
  creating ./config.status

It returns the following error

/usr/local/make-3.77/configure: /bin/sh: No such file
or directory

I created the /bin and renamed sh.exe to ash.exe and
then copied bash.exe to sh.exe
and mounted cygwin/bin to /bin

I have include the o/p of check -s -v, if that would
help. I am a novice at unix and
cygwin and any help would be greatly welcome, thanking
you inadvance
