Most, if not all, of the official answers to the questions on the Cygnus/Redhat merger are off the Cygnus home page: http://www.cygnus.com . There are two links which discuss the merger. AFAICT, this is good news. There is absolutely no reason to think that this impacts cygwin in any negative way. It is actually possible that cygwin was considered an asset in the negotiations.
