Date: Wed, 8 Sep 1999 08:43:48 -0400 X-Mailer: Internet Mail Service (5.5.2232.9) Has anyone else noticed some programs (eg Microsoft FTP, nslookup) seem to get an EOF as soon as they start, and quit? The problem doesn't seem to affect cygwin binaries (eg cat). The problem persists if I remove my .bashrc and start a new shell. $ nslookup Default Server: pixels.pixsci.com Address: 192.168.146.1 > $ for example. This is using the 0819 snapshot of cygwin1.dll, running on Windows 2000, RC1. The binaries are all from the b20.1 distribution. CYGWIN32 is unset (it happens also with tty set). $ uname -a uname -a CYGWIN_NT-5.0 SNAPPLE 21.0 (0.14/2/2) 1999-8-20 00:57:23 i686 unknown $ sh --version sh --version GNU bash, version 2.02.1(2)-release (i586-pc-cygwin32) Copyright 1998 Free Software Foundation, Inc. $ cygcheck sh cygcheck sh Found: C:\bin\sh.exe Found: C:\Programs\gnuwin32\cygwin-b20\H-i586-cygwin32\bin\sh.exe C:\bin\sh.exe C:\winnt\System32\cygwin1.dll C:\winnt\System32\advapi32.dll C:\winnt\System32\NTDLL.DLL C:\winnt\System32\KERNEL32.DLL C:\winnt\System32\RPCRT4.DLL C:\winnt\System32\user32.dll C:\winnt\System32\GDI32.DLL Use -h to see help about each section sh-2.02$ set !::='::\' !C:='C:\users\don' ALLUSERSPROFILE='C:\Documents and Settings\All Users' APPDATA='C:\Documents and Settings\don\Application Data' BASH=/bin/sh BASH_VERSINFO=([0]="2" [1]="02" [2]="1" [3]="2" [4]="release" [5]="i586-pc-cygwi n32") BASH_VERSION='2.02.1(2)-release' COMMONPROGRAMFILES='C:\Program Files\Common Files' COMPUTERNAME=SNAPPLE COMSPEC='C:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe' DIRSTACK=() EUID=1003 GROUPS=() HISTFILE=/.bash_history HISTFILESIZE=500 HISTSIZE=500 HOME=/ HOMEDRIVE=c: HOMEPATH='\users\don' HOSTNAME=SNAPPLE HOSTTYPE=i586 IFS=' ' LOGONSERVER='\\SERVER' MACHTYPE=i586-pc-cygwin32 MAILCHECK=60 NUMBER_OF_PROCESSORS=1 OPTERR=1 OPTIND=1 OS=Windows_NT OS2LIBPATH='C:\winnt\system32\os2\dll;' OSTYPE=cygwin32 PATH=/winnt/system32:/winnt:/winnt/System32/Wbem:/PROGRAMS/ULTRAEDT:/Program s/Rational/ClearCase/bin PATHEXT='.COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WS;.WSH' PIPESTATUS=([0]="127") PPID=1026 PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE=x86 PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER='x86 Family 6 Model 5 Stepping 2, GenuineIntel' PROCESSOR_LEVEL=6 PROCESSOR_REVISION=0502 PROGRAMFILES='C:\Programs' PROMPT='$P$G' PS1='\s-\v\$ ' PS2='> ' PS4='+ ' PWD=/users/don SHELL=/bin/sh SHELLOPTS=braceexpand:hashall:histexpand:monitor:history:interactive-comment s:em acs SHLVL=1 SYSTEMDRIVE=C: SYSTEMROOT='C:\winnt' TEMP='C:\DOCUME~2\don\LOCALS~1\Temp' TERM=cygwin TMP='C:\DOCUME~2\don\LOCALS~1\Temp' UID=1003 USERDOMAIN=NTPIXSCI USERNAME=don USERPROFILE='C:\Documents and Settings\don' WINDIR='C:\winnt' _=env begin 600 Don Bowman (E-mail).vcf ` end -- Want to unsubscribe from this list?
