Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Hello, I tried the latest snapshot which includes changes to fix the below problem, and was encouraged. The first end-of-medium was detected, and produced the message Found end of tape. Load next tape and press RETURN. So I did. It seemed like cpio wrote for a while, then all diskette activity stopped. I thought perhaps it found the next end-of-medium. I changed disks, and hit return. To no avail. cpio was done, or hung. It wouldn't return except with a break. I also noticed this behaviour with the last version of the DLL from Corinna, (.7/1/1). I tried several block sizes. First 120, then 100, then the default. The failure occurs on them all, though it seems to take longer for the shorter sizes, i.e. I was able to get through three disks before failure with the default size, but only one or two with the other sizes. Thanks again, Vince Virgilio Vincent Virgilio 09/02/99 02:35 PM To: cygwin AT sourceware DOT cygnus DOT com cc: corinna AT vinschen DOT de Subject: Cygwin cpio. Hello, Thank you for the updated cygwin DLL, 21.0 (0.7/1/1), from Corinna Vinschen. And for the cpio binary. Seems to work well until the end-of-medium. I have followed the instructions Corinna distributes with the DLL. When I try this: ls *.deb | cpio -o -O/dev/rfd --block-size=100 I eventually get this cpio: write error: No space left on device. Apparently cpio is not detecting end-of-medium. Has this happened to anyone before? Thanks, Vince Virgilio -- Want to unsubscribe from this list?
