However, after some time, when I attempt to start up another one, it hangs after starting, apparently before executing my .bash_profile (I echo a msg to stderr as the first statement in .bash_profile -- and I don't see this message). I can't seem to get the attention of this hung session, but I can close it or kill -9 it. However, after this happens, I can't start any more terminal windows until I exit all the way out of cygwin1.dll. Has anyone else noticed this?
