As far as I know, they're not GNU tools though. You can always use the Gnu "zip," "unzip" and "zipinfo" programs (*not* gzip and gunzip!) to get the full range of JAR/ZIP file functionality. The only thing you might need that zip/unzip cannot accomodate is the "jar" command's generation of a manifest file. Unfortunately, my user tools installation of Cygwin does not seem to include the zip family of programs, but they are present on my RedHat Linux 5.1 x86 installation. I don't remember exactly why, but I came to the conclusion that jar creates a new archive each time it's invoked. It doesn't add files to existing archives.
