The ANSI/ISO C standard does not allow that code.
You need to write it as

	FILE *yyin, *yyout;

and then initialize yyin and yyout before you use
them, e.g. in main()

	int main() {
		yyin = stdin;
		yyout = stdout;
		...
	}
