Hi *,

I'm treying to compile gdbm-1.7.3.
Because I got an assembler error with Cygnus gcc and gas, I upgraded
to egcs 1.0.2 and gas-930303, but still get the same error:

MIKE-[/entw/src/gdbm-1.7.3]_$make
gcc -c   -fPIC -I.  -fomit-frame-pointer dbminit.c -o shared/dbminit.o
as: bfd assertion fail ../../bfd/coff-i386.c:479
/tmp\cc002960.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp\cc002960.s:27: Error: Cannot represent relocation type BFD_RELOC_386_GOTPC
make: *** [dbminit.o] Error 1

Any idea, what this migth be and how to get around it ?
