From: john AT corp DOT gulf DOT net (John Schuhr) Subject: B19.1 system calls ignored in NT4 24 Mar 1998 09:38:27 -0800 Message-ID: <199803231552.JAA04541.cygnus.gnu-win32@marlin.corp.gulf.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit To: Under the Cygnus environment, simple system calls in compiled C/C++ programs work fine: system("dir > ack.txt"); This just redirects the directory into a text file. However, when the same program is executed at the MS-DOS prompt, it completely ignores the system call. Even system calls that send data to the standard output act the same way. What gives? _____________________________________________________ John Schuhr Gulf Coast Internet Software/Web Services Engineer 115B E Gregory Sq (850)438.5700 Pensacola, Fl 32501 john AT corp DOT gulf DOT net http://www.gulf.net ----------------------------------------------------- - For help on using this list (especially unsubscribing), send a message to "gnu-win32-request AT cygnus DOT com" with one line of text: "help".
