From: vischne AT ibm DOT net Subject: Problem with egcs not reporting missing functions 11 Feb 1998 18:33:15 -0800 Message-ID: <199802111750.RAA54746.cygnus.gnu-win32@out1.ibm.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit To: gnu-win32 AT cygnus DOT com I posted a similar message earlier, but it apparently didn't get put onto the cygwin board: If you make a program with egcs under cygwin or ming32, and you have a function, but no library for it, you don't get that function identified when the error message shows up. This is a change from gcc tradition, and it makes software development and porting less easy. P. S. I seem to have the latest egcs for cygwin successfully compiling ming32 programs using a slightly modified mingw32 specs. - For help on using this list (especially unsubscribing), send a message to "gnu-win32-request AT cygnus DOT com" with one line of text: "help".
